Developing countries need finance in order to advance while already advanced countries need not just access to consumer markets but a major share of these markets. The Malaysia economy is not primarily driven by locally owned corporations but sustained by foreign sources. The electrical and electronics sector alone received the largest portion of foreign investment in manufacturing. Following almost a 10 billion dollar expansion plan by superstar companies such as Intel and Texas Instruments, our prime minister has also successfully called on Tesla CEO Elon Musk and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang to establish a presence in the country.
